The exhibition Missed Images highlights outstanding female physicians and researchers at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin whose achievements have long received too little attention.
Using historical material compiled by the project team, Gesine Born from the Bilderinstitut created AI-generated images that make these women and their contributions visible in a new way. The exhibition presents the images together with the stories behind their creation.
This exhibition is a joint project of Kristina Helena Pavićević (group member and Coordinator of the BIOQIC Research Training Group, GRK2260), Dr. Christine Kurmeyer (Central Women’s and Equal Opportunities Officer at Charité), Karin Höhne (Head of Equal Opportunities/Berlin Institute of Health at Charité), and of the SFB1315, Cluster of Excellence NeuroCure, and SFB1588.
The exhibition is open from February 27 to March 27, 2026, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Rahel Hirsch Center for Translational Medicine, Luisenstr. 65, 10117 Berlin.
You can find more information about the background of the exhibition in the German article in the online magazine of the Berlin Medical Association.
