A highlight was the keynote lecture by Prof. Rebecca Wells, MD, from the University of Pennsylvania. Her talk about the research in her group and about her personal experiences during her career was very inspiring. The first day was concluded by a get-together with a live concert by the trio “The Couchies”.
The second day consisted of presentations by the associated PhD students and the medical stipendiary Sotirios Tsogias. They had a great opportunity to interact and collaborate with other BIOQIC members, which was highly appreciated. The scientific program was concluded by an invited talk by Prof. Oliver Wieben from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In the afternoon, a guided tour and creative workshop was organized at the Museum Barberini in Potsdam. The group learned about impressionist painters and had the opportunity to try out their own pointillist talent.
