MRE Workshop – Elastography and 1st BIOQIC Day

We are delighted to announce the very first MRE workshop independently organized by members of the MRE study group of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM)* in conjunction with the first BIOQIC student day.

*(Please note the ISMRM does not accept or assume any liability for this workshop as this workshop is not supported or organized by the ISMRM.)

The MRE workshop will take place on 28th and 29th of September, 2017, at the Charité University Hospital in Berlin, Germany. Its focus will be on biophysical foundations, clinical needs, research promises and technical solutions in MR elastography. It will give an overview of state-of-the-art (pre)clinical MRE, discuss its clinical relevance and explore future directions. The workshop will contain keynote sessions as well as short oral presentations and poster presentations. Importantly, the program of the annual symposium of the new research training group BIOQIC – Biophysical and Quantitative Medical Imaging towards Clinical Diagnosis – which is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) will be complemented by this workshop. In fact, we organize a special BIOQIC student day prior to our MRE workshop on 27th of September which will be focused on quantitative clinical imaging techniques by ultrasound, PET/SPECT, MRI and CT. You are all very welcome to join this special BIOQIC day in advance to the MRE workshop!

The symposium targets basic scientists and clinicians from all levels of experience; interested students as well as advanced users in MR elastography and quantitative imaging techniques are invited to join. Our goal is to stimulate research on multiscale imaging of tissue mechanics and to initiate national and international collaborations.

Abstracts can be submitted from March 2017, the submission deadline will be on July 31st 2017. Please send your filled registration and abstract submission form as a word-document to: bioqic@charite.de. The abstract submission form provides a template for your abstract: just replace the provided text and figure with your own. The abstract, including figure, should not exceed 1 A4 page. Registration for the workshop will be free of charge.

The venue will be at the campus Charité Mitte, right in the center of Berlin. We are looking forward to welcome you to our workshop in Berlin!
